Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to delete your CookCookaccount and the personal data we hold about you, including any data we obtained when you signed in with Facebook. It is provided to satisfy Facebook’s Platform Terms requirement for a User Data Deletion URL.

1. Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way to delete all your data is from within CookCook:

  1. Open the CookCook app or sign in at cookcook.app.
  2. Go to Profile → Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account, library, activity history, and any data we received from Facebook will be permanently erased within 30 days.

2. Request deletion by email

You can also ask us to delete your data without using the app — either because you prefer to, or because you cannot sign in. Email privacy@cookcook.app from the address associated with your CookCook account (or the email on your Facebook account, if you signed in with Facebook) with the subject line “Delete my data”.

We will verify your request and erase your data within 30 days. We will email you to confirm once it is done.

3. Revoke CookCook’s access on Facebook

To stop CookCook from being able to receive any further data from Facebook, remove the app from your Facebook account:

  1. Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.
  2. Find CookCook in the list of active apps.
  3. Select it and click Remove.

Removing the app on Facebook stops new data being shared, but does not delete data we already hold — use step 1 or 2 above for that.

4. What gets deleted

We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request itself, and anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you, where allowed by the GDPR.
